According to research from the University of Arizona [1], the average office desk can support ten million microbes and the average office surface harbours more than 20,000 microbes per square inch. Many of these microbes are relatively harmless, but some can lead to serious infections.

It is perhaps unsurprising, therefore, that the average employee has 8.4 sick days every year [2].
